When Was the Last Time You Did Something for the First Time?

There is a popular country song with this title and I find it really inspiring and thought-provoking! I speak with Spirit on a daily basis and one of the things that always gets me is how I am ALWAYS encouraged to do something fun and creative every.single.day. Yes. You read that right - every day! We were not created to work all the time. We were not created to exist. We were created to LIVE!

I think a lot about this as I try to challenge myself in my daily spiritual growth. I used to be really artistically creative. I had let that slide when it was pointed out to me by Spirit that this was not good for me or my soul. I had lost that sense of joy that creating brought to me. I couldn't figure out how to bring it back out again until I was literally divinely inspired one day to look for others in my area who wanted to be creative too. Wow! You mean I could be creative and make new friends while doing it???? Are you kidding me?

Sure enough, I belong to a ladies' social club and asked whether I could start a creative kind of group. It is now so successful that we have a waiting list of those who want to get in! We visit studios each month and learn a new art or craft.

I use the above as an example to inspire you. When you are feeling down or just stuck, ask for help from Spirit! Father/Creator/Source created you in joy! He wants you to live in joy! We need to do more than exist.

What have you been missing? Perhaps you don't even know. If that is the case, I would urge you to try something new. Have you always wanted to learn to play an instrument? There are teachers everywhere, just look. Have you always wanted to learn to landscape? You can pull up examples on YouTube or find classes at your local college or even Home Depot or Lowe's. You can even find a local Master Gardener's Club that will provide classes and programs. Always wanted to join a Book Club? Try MeetUp.com and see if there's not one in your area already. If not, start your own! Having trouble finding friends? I have found that most larger areas have a Newcomers Club. You don't have to be a newcomer to the area to join. All are welcome! Get involved in your children's school or sports. Volunteers are great people and make wonderful friends!

I have found that few opportunities knock on my door! Many times I have to go out and get them and, folks, that's the joy in the journey! When was the last time you did something for the first time??? You deserve the best - go find it!

If you are looking for a way to grow spiritually, I am here for you. Click here to go to my website where you will see my class offerings and mentoring programs. They may just be something new you've been needing!

Until next time....
