Tortoise: Man Would Do Well to Emulate Us

Tortoises are land-dwelling reptiles.  They can live up to 120 years.  While they have shells and can feel when their shell is touched, they really love being scratched and petted on their necks!  They recognize and have relationships with their owners when in captivity.  A group of tortoises is called a creep.

When I speak to wild animals, I ask to speak to a member from the collective (living in heaven) as well as a living individual.  I do this because, many times, they each have very different messages.

The collective representative is a massive Galapagos Tortoise.  She feels ancient.

Collective:

How happy we are that you are recognizing us so, Lacey!  It is a pleasure to be here today to address your readers.  Tortoise has been around for thousands and thousands of years.  We lived for a great long time before man came to live with us.  I say live WITH us intentionally.  It is a wondrous thing on this home planet of ours that we can collaborate with you but be so very different.

Mankind doesn’t quite know what to do with us for we truly live to the beat of our own drum, albeit a very slow one.  Have you ever thought about that?  When have you ever seen a tortoise hurry?  It is extremely rare.  We have few natural predators.  It is unfortunate that mankind has turned into one but, for most of us, this is rare.

We are here to help you to remember to slow down and to savor your surroundings.  Tortoise has a true relationship with earth.  We are very aware of our surroundings.  We have a symbiotic relationship with most things here on this earth.  Man would do well to emulate that.

I thanked Mother Tortoise for having come today.

Individual:

Our individual is a good sized male tortoise here from a desert in Africa.

Hello.  This is what I expected today!  I thank you for calling me.  I love representing my species for you to learn about.  I love my home.  I am in a great desert.  I live in a small sector that is wonderful for me.  There is much to graze upon where I am located.  I don’t go far.  I stay where I am easily able to find food.  I am aware that, if I go further, I will only encounter hardship for I have seen the endless sand.

I have no predators here.  I have a very peaceful life and I enjoy it.  Most of what is around me is very busy.  The insects are busy all the time.  The spiders are constantly spinning webs.  The dragonflies and bees are busy and help to keep my habitat very lush.  I appreciate that so many different kinds of beings do so much for me and for our earth and habitat.  I am very blessed!

As a species, we each have a consciousness for the whole.  Yes, this is correct.  Mankind is not aware of this except for unexplainable things that mankind is uncomfortable with.  As animals, we all are aware of our species’ condition.  We are far more innately connected than you understand.  That is probably good and for our benefit for you would have felt threatened if this were common knowledge.

Is it all right if I publish that here?  Yes.  Thank you for asking.  Your readers are not those who would be threatened by this knowledge.  Your readers will be comforted as it will resound with them, deep within their souls.  They knew this but many have forgotten it.  We are all here together, all of us.  As you evolve, remember your own species.  Remember your planet.  Remember that we truly can all coexist together for that is the way we were all created.

Wow.  Wow.  I have no words.  I honored Tortoise for having come today.  Let’s all remember our species and our planet together, shall we?

This is an ongoing series on my blog.  I speak with domesticated animals on a very regular basis. Each time I speak with a wild animal, I am humbled, truly humbled, by their dignity and grace.  We are so blessed to share this planet with them.  Please help me to help them to spread their messages.  Please share this post!

Should you be interested, I have spoken with many wild animals and insects.  A comprehensive index with links to individual blog posts is here.
